Eat Dark Chocolate for a Healthy Brain!
Whether it's ice cream or dessert, dark chocolate is hard to resist.
From children to adults, everyone can live on chocolate anyway. And now the authorities have given us another reason to absorb these things!
Good news for chocolate lovers! A study shows that consumption of dark chocolate may protect our brains from age-related stress and swelling.
Oxidative stress and inflammation increase with age. Both are the origin of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease.
They found a flavanol called epicatechin (Epi) in dark chocolate, which has the potential to reduce harmful oxidative stress and neuroinflammation.
Research and results:
Scholars from the University of California, San Diego conducted the experiment on a mouse model.
They evaluated male mice for two weeks. Their head samples have been assembled to assess the relevant endpoints.
A review of the levels of OS marker protein carbonyl compounds and malondialdehyde showed that senescence inhibited by Epi has a great effect.
In addition to reducing oxidative stress and neuroinflammatory levels in aged mice, Epi can also increase recall and anxiety levels.
